Technology, with a good cause

Mriehel, Malta - 12.10.2007. The London Marathon, one of the most popular sporting and fund-raising events in the world, and that has been held each year in London since 1981, is taking place on the 13th of April 2008. With over 35,000 estimated participants, 75% of which run for their preferred charity, the marathon is one of the largest fund-raising events of today. It is estimated that funds raised during the event well exceed STG35 million, or STG1000 per participant, some five times more than the New York City Marathon.

The marathon itself is an arduous task; 42km throughout the streets of London requires a regular and tough training schedule, especially if one aims to finish the marathon in a decent time. Decent, for Nathan Farrugia, who is doing this event to raise funds for the Razzett tal-Hbiberija and Aspire (UK), is under 3.5 hours.

Catalogue Solutions, a local software company that forms part of the TCC Group, works with commercial and charitable companies to support their management systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The company has recently contributed the sum of 800 Euros towards Nathan's target of Euros 5000.

"We feel that Nathan's participation in this event shows determination and we are very happy to be supporting him. The two charities are equally well-deserving and the cross national tie fits well with our business model, as we provide services to both Malta and the UK", says Tony Borg, CEO at TCC Malta.
